Booyah! How the heck did I miss this yesterday.
It seems that for the annoying but necessary $9.95 cost to upgrade an iPod Touch to the iPhone 3.0 software when it becomes available, we iPod touch users are getting a tad more than just a software upgrade.
The built in Bluetooth chip in the second generation iPod Touch that currently only works with the Nike+ software and shoes will be unlocked for general use.
So not just A2DP stereo headphone but all the goodness of wireless connectivity other hardware and iPods/iPhones for peer to peer connections too.
For me that’s well worth the upgrade cost. But for my ultimate Touch nirvana to come true someone needs to sneak bluetooth connectivity software past the App store watch dogs so I can use my blackberries EVDO connection when I don’t have WiFi. Puhleeeease!
