Just when you thought digital photo frames were at their pinnacle (oh they are so not) and it was safe to run out and get one, along comes Skyla with an idea so crazy it just might work (but probably not).

Skyla is introducing the Memoir, digital photo frame, with (wait for it…) a built in scanner.

That’s right now that old shoe box full of 4x6 and 3x5 prints can be replaced with a digital photoframe.  Just insert photo and press the handy scan button to have the ageing print of Sally’s first Christmas preserved for ever with a bad cross fade into Uncle Al’s 1977 New Years Eve lampshade routine.

Actually this could be kind of handy for grandma or you if you aren’t tech savvy enough to do this with a $50 scanner and $100 digital frame.  (But then how did you find your way to this site?)

It should be out just in time for last minute gift giving and at $219 it’s not priced out of range of any of the other digital photo frames (because they are all over priced anyway)
