The dreaded HDCP protection rears it’s ugly head, to bring me back down off the awesome high I was on after yesterdays discovery of HD streaming netflix becoming available on the Xbox 360.

Gizmodo is reporting that you will need an HDCP compliant display and Xbox 360 to be able to take advantage of the new service pairing.

Now due to the far more prevelant than reported RRoD problem with the 360, I actually have an HDMI, and assumidly HDCP compatable 360, but my now four year old Panasonic LCD rear projection HDTV is sadly not.

However I hear there is an adapter out there that will allow you to view HDCP content on an non HDCP compliant display.

It’s called the HDFury, and I don’t understand how it’s legal, but it seems to be and the reviews are pretty posative.  The $249 price tag is not cheap, but, its a heck of a lot better than a new HDTV.
