If you remember the tech world last year at this time, netbooks were all the rage. I was even caught up in the meme myself, and posted many of an article here on the subject. But it’s been a while since I’ve seen something real drool worthy in the netbook world, worth reporting here.
Until now…
This is the Dell Vostro V13, a 13.3” screen super thin (0.65”) netbook. It seems to be breaking all the netbook rules, at least the ones that were in place last year. It has a ultra low voltage Core 2 processor, not an atom, it has a 13.3 screen (no word on resolution yet), 4Gb of Ram, Wifi, Bluetooth, and a webcam.
Oh and here is the kicker, unlike previous ultra thin and light netbooks or notebooks, this has a reasonable price tag. A mere $450.
I need a few more specs before I say this is the netbook to have. Mainly what sort of graphics does it have, or more importantly will it handle full screen hd hulu and other streams?
Also being a core 2 processor it might just get around that little block on Hackintosh setups when Apple dropped support for the Atom chip.
Mmmm a $450 Mac Book Air, from Dell is a happy thought.
