Asus Eee Keyboard Confirmed For October, Wireless HDMI Included - Eee keyboard - Gizmodo
This has to be one of the weirdest computers/gadgets I have seen in all my years of blogging tech. The ASUS Eee keyboard.
The Eee Keyboard is an entire netbook computer crammed into a keyboard housing with an added touchscreen display on the right side.
The computer is a 1.6ghx Atom procesor with 1GB of Ram, a 32 GB SSD Drive, WiFi, Blue Tooth, and Gizmodo claims a wireless HDMI connection although I havn’t seen that mentioned elsewhere.
It’s designed to be a home entertainment PC but as it’s built into a keyboard it means you have to drag wires all over the place. There is a power cable (no battery in this unit but there should be), an hdmi or video cable depending on what it’s hooked up too, a usb mouse (it doesn’t look like the touch screen will function as a track pad, which is a shame).
Oh and for a media PC this looks to be a dog for streaming or even playing back hi def video…. Unless there is a nvidia chipset or something hiding under the hood, this is going to struggle like my Dell mini does with even 720p content.
I really like that ASUS is pushing out some new designs and ideas but really… I’m not tracking this one. What am I missing here?
