It seems enough of you held back on spending the $9.95 to upgrade your iPod Touch from 2.x to 3.0 that with the release of firmware 3.1 Apple is now lowering the upgrade cost to only $4.95.
Fear not if you already bought the 3.0 upgrade (like me, yup I’m a sucker) then you don’t need to pay a cent to go to 3.1. But if you are opposed to Apple’s giving free updates to iPhones but charging iPod Touch owners $9.95 to update, well now you can smile a bit more as apparently Apple has noticed.
Personally I understand their reasoning for charging for the update on the touch, but… there is no reason the price should be any more than a token $0.99.
But I love my touch, I use it more than my cell phone, and I will keep paying to update the device, whenever Steve thinks I should.
