Wow, I didn’t see this one coming. In fact I had no idea that FriendFeed was even on the market, but then again I suppose anyone is for the right price.
These are two services I use daily, Facebook I use begrudgingly because really everyobody is on it, so if you want your friends (ex friends, past girlfriends, parents, cousins, etc.) to know what your doing then you pretty much have to be on it.
FriendFeed however is a tad more cutting edge, than Facebook. Friendfeed takes everything you are doing on the web, your websites your flicker photos, your tweets, your comments on blogs, everything and turns into one stream that others can subscribe to, and comment on.
FriendFeed is a very cool service that does some of what Facebook does (only better), some of what twitter does (but with threaded comments), and some of what a personal blog does.
And If you follow a lot of people on FriendFeed and use their real time view it quickly becomes a stream of consciousness for the internet. If you follow a real lot of people it’s sort of like trying to get a drink from a fire hose, but still… your thirst will be satisfied. ;-)
I’m sure this will be a win for facebook as much of the things they are trying to do overlap with what FriendFeed is already doing, but what will this mean for the active FriendFeed users?
Will FriendFeed continue to exist as it’s own service outside of the Facebook Sandbox?
