This story is of particular interest to me because Science Editor RebRob and myself do a beer review podcast that sometimes talks tech and coincidentally is hosted by the good folks over at Blip.tv.

Blip.tv has come to an agreement with You Tube and others to allow syndication of content on Blip.tv to other more popular video sharing sites, as well as distribution directly to set top boxes such as the Roku Player, TiVo, Sony TV’s, and Verizon FIOS systems.

Mike Hudack, the founder of Blip.tv thinks he might double his audience with these deals, but honestly, You Tube alone could double his audience number. The rest would just be gravy.

Being a current Blip.TV customer, I can tell you their service is outstanding for hosting a video or audio podcast for free. I have been in contact with their tech support several times and always received a fast friendly response.

The information (data tracking) they provide is top notch, and oh did I mention already that it’s all free, yeah I think I did but trust me it’s worth mentioning again. FREE!!!!

I’m excited to see what something like this could do for our plucky little podcast. Check out our blip.tv embedded video player on happy time magic hour, or check out our blip.tv site to see what it’s all about.
