“But Hulu is available everywhere for free, so why do we need a downloader?”
Well Billy, because ubiquitous wireless broadband isn’t everywhere yet, and broadband providers, espececially those who deal in the wireless variety, use these things called bandwidth caps. Especially low caps like the 5gb ones in place with most cellular data providers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint…) pretty much prevent you from streaming anything for fear of using up all your data for a month in one day.
So how is a pre-teen supposed to catch up on back episodes of Hanna Montana in the back seat of the mini-van on a cross country escursion?
Well with this little Windows only gem of a software program. Free for normal video downloads, but they’d like you to buy it for using it with the HD stream.
However, I’d be wary of buying it before you see if Hulu does anything to try and block this… Which I am betting they will.
