Many of us in who love technology and science mourned the last Space shuttle mission. We claimed that this was worst possible budget cut that we as Americans could make. The long term benefits of NASA, and space travel have already given us boggle the mind, and who knows what future benefits we just tossed aside so that government subsidies of corn could continue….
But what is this, I had completely forgotten about the semi-secret X-37B robotic space plane project that is apparently still being funded.
In fact it just set an endurance record. Today marks the X-37B’ 270th day of flight.
It is now approaching the end of it’s 9 month mission.
Sure it’s no space shuttle, in fact the shuttle could carry two X-37B’s in it’s cargo bay, but it’s something and that gives me hope that our space travel days aren’t yet over.
