Well here is a different spin on the whole Android coming to netbooks thing.
Canonical, the people behind the free and highly rated Ubuntu Linux operating system, are developing an “execution environment” that would let Android Apps run in Ubuntu, or any Linux os.
So instead of bothering to build a version of Android for netbooks or computers in general you would be able to install and run an Android based application on your Ubuntu powered netbook or even your desktop computer.
An interesting idea, and I’m all for compatibility, but is there really a need for this? How often do you look at a cell phone sized app and think “Man I wish I had that on my desktop?”
Maybe it’s just because I don’t have any hands on experience with Android or it’s applications.
What do you think? Do you want to run Android applications on your netbook/laptop/desktop?
