What an odd thing for Google to come out and say.
I mean sure, the screen resolution by default in Android 2.2 isn’t equipped to handle high res/large size screens, but the openness of the OS, has lead manufacturers to write their own display drivers that seem to work just fine.
I don’t get it.
Is this the beginning of the Google Chrome OS push, and thus the canabalizing of google’s own fledgling tablet market?
Google, tablets are here to stay, you need to get out in front of this trend with one of your products. You can’t drag your feet on Chrome OS, and simultaneously tell people you don’t want them to use Android on a tablet…
We need something, Android seems 95% there, Chrome is non existant, WebOS is buried in some HP Lab, and Windows 7 is overkill for a $500 device. What are we supposed to use Google?
I’d say it”s time to release an optimized version of Froyo then, and the time is… now.
