Apparently the Pre is literally nothing without the cloud, or it’s own cloud anyway.
James Kendrick of the great JK On The Run mobile gear blog recount a bit of a disturbing tale with one of his favorite mobile devices. The Palm Pre.
I knew that the Palm Pre talk to the cloud to do it’s backups and it’s magical syncing with all your social networking sites. But it...

iPod Nano With Camera Banned From Gym Locker Rooms →
This just makes sense, in a way. It’s to be expectede at least as a first volley in the battle for privacy in what is essentially a public place.
So why the heck am I bothing with it here?
Well, it’s started with pocket camera’s, then cell phones that had camera’s, and now media players with cameras. Where will it end. A camera of some sort is quickly becoming...

But now Intel just announced at IDF2009 that they have made a version of it designed specifically for Atom Based Cell phones.

Google Has A Solution For Internet Explorer: Turn... →
Apparently, someone at Google really really hates Internet Explorer. Many people do, but unfortunately so much crap has been written for it, the security & compliance nightmare IE 6 specifically, that many people have no choice.
Enter the new Google Plug-in for IE, Chrome Frame.

Music Industry Wants Royalties From iTunes 30... →
Ok, I know I’ve said this before, but seriously… How stupid is the record industry?
ASCAP (pronounced ASS-CAP) is now asking online music stores for performance fees for the 30 sec preview clips you can listen to in iTunes and other digital retailers.

Excuse me? that 30 second clip that rarely even lets me know what the “meat” of a...

The most economic iPhone case ever! →
Despite some government official going on the news the other night and declaring the recession over. We are all still feeling the effects of this tough economy.
The only bright side is that we are starting to see some nice price cuts in the gear we love as a result. But I think iPhone case maker case-mate might have just taken things a bit too far.

Apple drops Apple TV Price significantly →
Apple TV, Steve Job’s hobby project, as he once put it. The Apple interface for your TV and Entertainment center just scored a big Price cut.
The 160GB Apple TV dropped to $229, the 40GB version that was formally $229 has been discontinued (start looking for deals and closeouts).

Apple quietly lowers the software upgrade price... →
It seems enough of you held back on spending the $9.95 to upgrade your iPod Touch from 2.x to 3.0 that with the release of firmware 3.1 Apple is now lowering the upgrade cost to only $4.95.
Uploaded with plasq’s Skitch!
Fear not if you already bought the 3.0 upgrade (like me, yup I’m a sucker) then you don’t need to pay a cent to go to 3.1. But if you are opposed to...

Apple iPod Event Wrap-up
My head is swimming with confusion, my predictions were for the most part horribly wrong.
Steve Jobs was back, and he looked pretty good up there running the show again.
iTunes 9 looks pretty nifty, but more on that later after I have had a chance to play with it.
iPods…. new shiny iPods. The Touch was updated with a little more horsepower, and a new capacities up to a very nice...

Palm releasing the Pixi in time for the Holidays →
I now see why Palm was slow to get their development package and app store rolling. It was because they were busy pushing out a second WebOS phone.
The Palm Pixi is the new little brother to the Pre. It’s really just a Pre with a fixed keyboard instead of a slider. (It’s a Treo Pre, or a Preo?)

Oh it’s got a bit more horsepower too. ...

iPod Touch 3G with built in Camera confirmed? ... →
The proof is in the pudding, or in this case, the case. Hama cases is showing off new iPod Touch cases that fit the iPod Touch 2G and they claim the the iPod Touch 3G as well.
Nothing too suprising there as the iPhone 3G and 3GS are exactly the same size and shape, it makes sense the new iPod Touch would be too.
But wait… there is more….

You may have noticed content here has gotten light in the last week. I’m picking up some new projects at work and I’m still finding my groove with the increased work flow. But in addition to all that, a little thing called Snow Leopard was released, and I have been busy playing with that too.

Sprint rolls out Android with the HTC Hero →
I was beginning to think that T-Mobile was going to be the exclusive carrier of Google Android based handsets. But looky here Sprint is next major carrier to roll out a handset and it looks to be a sharp redesigned version of the HTC Hero.
