Palm Pre 1.0.4 Update Patches Security Hole That... →
The latest update for your Palm Pre is out, and it fixes a few things but breaks one very cool “feature.”
One of the security exploits that people were using to put home made application onto the palm pre has been closed. It’s too bad too, since Palm does not seem to be moving quickly on that public SDK (still slated for August/September release).

It wasn’t too long ago I remmember hearing about the Wasabi printing project. Aa Zero Ink technology that was designed to be small and portable. Sort of like getting a Polaroid type photo from your pocket cam or cell phone.
Well Dell has brought it to market and you can pick one up for a mere $149.

AppleInsider | Upgrade fee sees few iPod touch... →
Some interesting analysis from AdMob an active advertiser in the iPhone development space claims that iPod Touch owners haven’t rushed to upgrade to firmware 3.0 due to the $9.99 upgrade cost.
I expect that’s true to a point, but… I think that’s not the whole story. I don’t think may people out there are using their iPod Touch as a PDA device, even though it...

iPhone 3.0 Hidden Features →
“bndoarn” from the forums over at MacRumors (link in title), has put together a list of over 90 new features not publicized in the iPhone & iPod Touch firmware update.
Most of the updates are not something you’d immediately notice as new but stuff you’d probably run across accidentally and think “I didn’t know my iPod did that?”
Here are some of my...

Kodak technology being used to map the moon. →
I always like to plug the home town boys when they are doing the right thing.
The Rochester Business Journal is reporting that it’s Kodak CCD image sensors that will be heading up in the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter that will be used to map the surface of the Moon.

Jeff Bezos Wants Amazon Ebooks On More Than Just... →
We sort of saw this comming when the Kindle iPhone App appeared as a free download in the Apple App Store. But now we have confirmation from the man at the top, Jeff Bezos.

According to Mr. Amazon, the real money is n the E-Books not the hardware, so although they have every intention to keep making the Amazon Kindle hardware we should be able to see other...

The outdoor grill gets a new upgrade →
When it comes to grilling I am more of a charcoal guy than gas. To me if you are going to gas grill you might as well just plug in a George Forman style grill, which isn’t a bad option, but It’s not real bbq or grilling if you aren’t some sort of wood or fuel that used to be wood.
But this sexy sexy gas grill has me looking at the other side of the fence for the first time in...

USA DTV Switchover is today. Did you forget? →
There was a a whole lot of attention and commotion in February, when the first transition date was looming ever closer. Then newly elected president Obama, against my advice pushed the transition date to June 12th.
Now, I hear almost nothing about it.
Which means either President Obama’s delay was the smartest thing ever done because now all of America is prepared, or…. Starting...

The Wave project was introduced to developers last week, and since I wasn’t at the Developer’s preview and I have been only hearing bits of pieces of from various sources about it. I have had a hard time wrapping my head around it, and thus haven’t mentioned it here.
The best I could come up with was, it’s a communications system, it replaces email, and IM… Ohhh...

Xbox’s Natal is a game changer for more than just games.
A long time ago, and three tech blog sites away, I waxed on poetically as video came to the Apple iPod, and how it was going to subtly change everything. I believe I said something to the effect of “Today the world shifted a little.” Well folks it just happened again.
