Is Hulu Coming to Xbox 360? →
Well here is an interesting follow up to the previous Hulu article.
Olivia Muss of G4TV’s Attack of the Show (formally TechTV’s The Screen Savers, RIP) tweeted about doing promos for a Microsoft/Hulu event on June she is doing on June 8th.
Oh really? Just what sort of Hulu/Microsoft event could that be?

Hulu Blows our mind again with Hulu Desktop →
When Hulu first appeared on the scene it was something to behold. A place where you could easily watch most of the Television content currently out there (plus a lot of great older stuff) from one easy to navigate interface.
Boxee is a great service that brings internet video to your television screen. One of the feathers in their cap has been the inclusion of Hulu in their service. But...

Rumor: The Palm Pre syncs with iTunes just like an... →
Fortune thinks they have a scoop on what might be the most interesting Palm Pre rumor I have seen to date.
According to them (linked in title) the Pre will sync with Apple’s iTunes software. Very cool, but it gets better. Apparently the iTunes store and software treats the Pre just like any other iPod or iPhone.

In other words it just works.

MSI's X-Slim X340, A MacBook Air* for $899 →
Well look at that. MSI did it. They put out their version of the Apple MacBook Air for less than half the price.
Of course if you buy it, it’s going to come with Windows Vista, but…. That’s nothing that an enterprising Hackintosher couldn’t deal with.

Canonical giving Ubuntu the gift of Android apps →
Well here is a different spin on the whole Android coming to netbooks thing.
Canonical, the people behind the free and highly rated Ubuntu Linux operating system, are developing an “execution environment” that would let Android Apps run in Ubuntu, or any Linux os.

So instead of bothering to build a version of Android for netbooks or computers in...

Brits finally getting Hulu, but will we get some... →
The telegraph is confirming what was reported here a few weeks ago, that Hulu is finally starting to venture world wide and it’s first stop will be in The British Isles.
Uploaded with plasq’s Skitch!
Also included in the mix will be streaming of Channel 4 content and their own ITV content.
But there still is no word if that content will become available to American hulu viewers.
I...

No Apple Tablet until 2010? →
The Silicon Alley Insider is reporting (click title link) that Apple is indeed working on a “media pad” tablet.
Uploaded with plasq’s Skitch!
The device would be better for surfing the web and consuming media, but not powerful enough to cut into their notebook computer sales.
It would in short, be the Apple answer to the netbook.
However, they also claim, much to my dismay,...

Intel's Next-Gen Atom Puts CPU and GPU on One Chip →
You know and love the Intel Atom. It’s the chip that is driving the sub $500 netbook and nettop market. High power, low battery use, take anywhere machines.
Well it looks like the next version will include a graphics GPU and a memory controller on the same chip as the Atom CPU.

Intel claims this will reduce power consumption and cost of the over all...

The GPS system is probably not going to fail us... →
I tried not to write about this today, but it was basically this or the Palm Pre Release date (covered here yesterday).
There is this really poorly research article on the UK news site The Guardian (Linked above) claiming that the Global Positioning System is about to fall out of the sky and that people depending on their GPS navigation systems to get them home every night will suddenly be told...

The Pre Will Indeed Launch Days Before the iPhone →
Ok, I think I may have in fact figured out the logic behind this seemingly odd strategy by Sprint and Palm.
You see normally, a new phone launch doesn’t make more than a few geeky blog headlines when it launches. Perhaps a note a few pages in on The Wall Street Journal.

But not the iPhone. Due to the clearly insane Apple Fanboys (yes, I am one of...

Verizon LTE Devices To Have Swappable Sim Cards →
This is something I suspected all along, but still it’s nice to get some confirmation. It’s like Verizon isn’t known for handicapping capabilities of their network and devices for no good reason at all.
A swappable sim is a good thing, it means you can take your service from one device to another without having to jump through hoops with the carrier.
Want to leave your bulky...

Asus Eee Keyboard coming soon. A computer in your... →
Asus just doesn’t know what to do with themselves. They stumbled onto a hit with the Eee PC, creating an entire market for net books where there was none before.
Since then they have used the Eee moniker for everything from desktop computers to more than a dozen different net books and now a stand alone keyboard with a built in computer?

Well here is a way to distinguish your cell phone from the sea full of thousands of similar gadgets. Provide a feature we didn’t know we needed!!!

Verizon MiFi 2200, Mobile Broadband Done Right,... →
This is a great example of a great gadget that is totally hamstrung but unnecessary carrier inflicted usage caps.
The Verizon MiFi is a beautiful little device (for a full review click the title or this article to be taken to the jkonTheRun article). It can’t be simpler. You push a button, it turns on and connects to Verizons very fast 3G network. It then offers a WiFi connection for...

Apple Doesn't Like BitTorrent, Bans Drivetrain... →
I’m almost too used to this sort of thing from Apple to be angry anymore. For whatever reason Apple and their moral sensibilities rule the App Store with an iron fist. An inconsistent iron fist but it’s still their fist and when it hits you it’s damn hard…
ok I think I confused myself with that metaphor, so let’s get to the point.
An iPhone/Touch application that...

Asus Eee PC T91 Convertable Tablet launching by... →
You remember the Eee PC right? It’s that Asus brand that defined the netbook revolution but then lost itself in it’s own creation by deluding it’s brand with 15 versions of netbooks, laptops, and even desktop systems.
Well they are back and now that have a 9” screen netbook style device that has a touch screen and can be converted/swiveled into a tablet PC.

More Palm Pre launch rumors →
More Pre launch rumors this time they claim June 7th is the date.
Really Palm, June 7th? Do you really want to launch your iPhone competitor right before the launch of iPhone 3.0?
Sure you may get a few days of press but then you will be long forgotten. And trust me not many people will jump in line to buy it with out waiting a week to see what iPhone 3.0 is going to look like.

Hulu heads international →
It’s all comming up roses for the once struggling streaming TV service. First they land ABC & Disney, and now they are preparing to extend their reach outside the USA.
Streaming IPTV is the future, and Hulu seems to be the service of choice here in the USA. Hopefully that will expand once they get some global deals done, and hopefully we will also get some great foreign content back...

Amazon Kindle DX to feature 9.7-inch display? →
Alright I have ignored the rumor long enough. It seems to have gotten some legs, and is in fact now stomping all over most of the other tech news sites.
The rumor is of a large screen version of the Amazon Kindle, designed to be more friendly to newspapers and school textbooks.
There have been reports of this being some how the savior of the newspaper industry and will be some how subsidized...

Myst Comes to the iPhone/iPod Touch →
In case you “myst” it the first time around. Sorry but I had to sneak that in there.
The iconic mystery puzzler of the 1990’s has been ported over to the iPhone and iPod Touch.
The good news is it’s the whole original game, and it’s available for just $6.
The bad news is it will eat up a whopping 1.5gb of space on your device.
The game is iconic and...

Xbox 360 to get motion-sensing add-on with full... →
I think we all knew that Microsoft has been playing around with motion sensing capabilities for a future add on to the Xbox 360.
But this rumor goes above and beyond.
It sounds like MS is playing around with a motion sensing bar that doesn’t require you to have a controller.
Yes, that’s right you could play games by just moving your body. Duck, Kick, punch, Jump for action...
